Botswana is known worldwide for its abundance of wildlife found in the Okavango delta, but it has one landscape that is really unique. Situated in the vast Makgadikgadi pans, Khubu Island is a small rocky outcrop dotted with ancient Boabab trees.

It is a truly magical destination that feels like the middle of nowhere, despite being only 50km from the nearest town. Seeing the sun set over the endless white Makgadikgadi pan is a magnificent experience. The only thing better is exploring the trees under a starlit sky.

Due to the lack of facilities at Kubu Island I don’t offer any workshops or tours there, but I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have if you plan on visiting it by yourself. Use the button below to get in touch with me.
